How should georgette sarees and kurtis be washed at home?
| Method | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Hand wash | Preferred — gentle cold water with mild detergent |
| Machine wash | Delicate cycle only, cold water, mesh laundry bag |
| Dry cleaning | Recommended for heavily embroidered pieces |
| Drying | Hang in shade — never direct sunlight (fades colour) |
| Wringing | Never wring or twist — gently squeeze and roll in towel |
| Ironing | Low heat, inside out, with pressing cloth over fabric |
⚠️ Hot water is the #1 cause of georgette colour fading and garment shrinkage. Always use cold or room-temperature water for all synthetic fabric garments.
