What should boutique owners know before stocking men's linen kurtas? A buying guide.

Men's linen kurtas are the fastest-growing segment in men's ethnic wholesale — but several nuances affect stock decisions:

Fabric authenticity:

  • Pure linen: 100% linen fibre — highest quality, wrinkles the most, most breathable. Wholesale ₹350–₹750 per kurta set.
  • Cotton-linen blend (60:40 or 55:45): Less wrinkling than pure linen, softer from first wear — the most commercially successful variety. Wholesale ₹250–₹500.
  • Linen-look polyester: Polyester fabric with a slubbed texture that mimics linen — not breathable, significantly cheaper. Wholesale ₹150–₹300. Should not be marketed as linen.

Sizing considerations: Men's linen kurtas are growing in the 40–46 size range (office demographic). Stock a wider range of larger sizes than you would for synthetic kurtas.

Colour advice: White, ecru, and olive linen are the fastest-selling colours. Dark colours (navy, black linen) are slower-moving — the natural linen look is the aesthetic draw.
